High Efficiency Backup Power Using Dual Power Automatic Transfer Switches

Date:Sep-08-2023

In today’s fast-paced world, uninterrupted power is critical for businesses and homeowners alike. Sudden power outages can disrupt operations and cause inconvenience. To deal with this situation, a reliable solution is a dual power automatic transfer switch. This advanced device ensures seamless power transfer between main and backup sources, providing uninterrupted power to vital electrical equipment. In this blog post, we will discuss the operating procedures of a dual power automatic transfer switch so that you can take full advantage of its advantages.

Operation process:
1. Turn on standby power:
Starting backup power is critical when utility power fails and cannot be restored in time. In these order:
a. Turn off the main power circuit breakers, including the circuit breakers in the control cabinet and the dual power switch box. Pull the double-throw anti-reverse switch to the self-contained power supply side, and disconnect the self-contained power supply circuit breaker.
b. Start the backup power source, such as a diesel generator set. Make sure the backup device is functioning properly before proceeding.
c. Turn on the generator air switch and the circuit breaker in the self-contained power supply control cabinet in turn.
d. Close each backup power circuit breaker in the power switch box one by one to supply power to each load.
e. During standby power operation, the watchman must stay with the generating set. Monitor and adjust voltage and frequency according to load changes, and deal with abnormalities in time.

2. Restore mains power supply:
Efficient power conversion is critical when utility power is restored. In these order:
a. Turn off the self-contained power supply circuit breakers in turn: the self-contained power supply circuit breaker of the dual power supply switching box, the self-contained power distribution cabinet circuit breaker, and the generator main switch. Finally, turn the double-throw switch to the mains power supply side.
b. Turn off the diesel engine according to the prescribed steps.
c. Close the circuit breakers from the utility power main switch to each branch switch in sequence. Make sure all connections are secure.
d. Place the dual power switch box in the off position to ensure that power is now coming from the main power source.

Dual power automatic transfer switches simplify power management during outages, ensuring smooth transitions between primary and backup power. With its smart design and seamless functionality, the device provides peace of mind and convenience to users.

In summary, the dual power automatic transfer switch is a game changer in the power management arena. By following the simple operating procedures above, you can take advantage of its significant advantages in maintaining an uninterrupted power supply. Don’t let a power outage affect your productivity or disrupt essential operations. Invest in a reliable dual power automatic transfer switch and experience the convenience and efficiency it brings to your backup power system. Embrace uninterruptible power and stay connected at all times.
